Shift Supervisor

We are currently seeking shift supervisors at all three of our locations.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Shift supervisors oversee operations during assigned shifts, working closely with staff baristas to ensure that our standards for CUSTOMER SERVICE, QUALITY & CONSISTENCY, and CLEANLINESS are met during the shift.

QUALIFICATIONS
Coffee shop experience is helpful but not required.

• We expect shift supervisors to be:
  • Teachable: open to continuous learning and correction
  • Team Players: able to work together with the entire team for the success of Coffeehouse Five
  • Who Take Responsibility: willing to “own” their time in the coffeehouse and look for ways to solve problems as they arise rather than expect others to do so
• Morning and afternoon availability
• Saturday availability

RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory

• Maintain proper stock levels of all supplies, drink and food items for front of house and notify a lead if back of house levels are low
• Receive, check and shelve deliveries 
• Ensure pastry bags, to-go bags and sleeves are being stamped regularly!
• Manage pastry levels (cutting bread loaves, baking cookies, reporting shortages, etc)

Customer Experience

• Create exceptional customer experience by ensuring efficiency and accuracy of order fulfillment and positive customer interactions
• Resolve customer issues as necessary
• Assign staff responsibilities for each shift, adjusting as necessary
• Keep people/things moving
• Manage special orders and requests
• When directed by Lead, assist in staff training

Condition of the Shop

• Complete opening tasks
• Ensure completion of daily/weekly Chores
• Monitor store cleanliness
  • Look where you don’t normally look! 
  • Perform regular bathroom quality checks
• Ensure completion of closing tasks - manage/delegate/supervise/ pitch-in (bathrooms, mopping, etc.)
  • Is the store completely ready to open in the morning?
• Monitor and maintain sanitation and safety standards
• Ensure register and iPad are functioning correctly
• Monitor kitchen - sinks, steramine level, keeping up with dishes

Hours from 15-35 per week. Starting at $12/hour plus tip sharing once fully trained. Paid holidays.
